A young worm found on a green-soybean leaf was reared. The worm turned out to be a larva of the butterfly, Papilio machaon hippocrates. Eclosion began at around four thirty in the morning on September 3 2004. In about two hours, the wings of the butterfly were fully expanded and dry and the butterfly flew away for its first flight.
