Since the work by Lorenz, ducks have been known to show sets of stereotyped behavior. The video picture shows stereotyped bathing behavior in the white-faced whistling duck, which is frequently observed after feeding. A duck moves its head up and down several times and then preens the side of its body. This sequence of behavior constitutes a behavioral unit and a duck generally performs several units of this behavior. In the video picture, after one duck showed the behavior anther individual is displaying almost the same behavior, demonstrating how stereotyped this behavior is in this species. (translated by Asoh)
