Insert a fishing probe such as peeled bark, unmodified vine, branch, modified branch, midrib of leaf, or scraped wood into the entrance of wood-boring carpenter ants (Camponotus spp.) and withdraw the probe laden with the soldier ants and lick them off with lips and tongues.
