It is not only Anotogaster sieboldii that responds to rotating objects, but also Oligoaeschna pryeri, Orthetrum japonicum japonicum, Calopteryx cornelia, Sympetrum frequens, Cordulia aenea amurensis and a butterfly, Pieris rapae responded to rotating devices. Such phase of response varied by the species.ĦĦSome responded to rotating devices that were put on the ground, however, in C. aenea amurensis, the males responded to a dummy with a rotating propellar that was hung from a fishing rod due to the poor sexual recognition ability.
