A juvenile puts a leaf into a tree hole that has gathered rain water, and puts the drenched leaf into the mouth and sucks it to drink water. She then puts the crumpled leaf (leaf sponge) again into the tree hole and repeats "soaking it into water and sucking it." This tool-using behavior became prevalent among immature chimpanzees of M group of Mahale since around 2000.
