Second calendar-year female Crested Honey Buzzard in Morioka Zoological Park ZOOMO.
Response to playback of typical call of Crested Honey Buzzard.
Movie (cropped) obtained near the cage.

In response to a typical call (whistled call, recorded
by TK) of a male, flying Crested Honey Buzzard,
the bird quickly turned the head and looked like to search
for the sound source. The initial reaction faded away rather
quickly. The bird shook the head, but much less frequently
than in the experiments with rattling calls.
The frequency of eye blinks and movements of
the nictitating membrane looked normal.
