Second calendar-year female Crested Honey Buzzard in Morioka Zoological Park ZOOMO.
Response to playback of rattling call of European Honey Buzzard at nest.
Movie (downsized) obtained near the cage.
In response to a rattling call of a European Honey Buzzard,
the bird was perched on the pole. The Laughing Kookaburra
responded loudly initially, but did not affect
the subsequent phase. The bird moved rather restlessly
on the pole by moving the feet. The bird then tucked up
a foot in its feathers of the abdomen for a while.
The bird shook the head rather frequently and sometimes
looked down. The frequency of eye blinks and movements of
the nictitating membrane appeared reduced, but not so much
as in momo211209pp14b.
See momo211209pp01b for information of this individual.
