The spawning behavior was captured on video at the aquarium of Aquamarine Fukushima on April 14-16, 2024, from 8:00 p.m. to 24:00 p.m. The spawning behavior of this pair was observed during the three-day period of April 14-16, 2024. The larger of the pair was the female and the smaller was the male. The pair swam with their abdomens attached to each other for a while, and finally became stationary to release eggs and sperm. In the tank, most spawning occurred in the surface layer, but spawning in the middle layer was also observed on rare occasions. The number of isolated floating eggs per batch was 18,161, ranging from 13,585 to 23,166 eggs.
