It is known that the courtship behavior of male rockfish involves repeated cycles of "approach", "lateral pass" and "display"(Shinomiya & Esaki 2002). In this video, the male's urination and vocalizations during courtship were recorded by coloring his urine and recording his vocalizations with an underwater microphone. The vocalizations were recorded at the time of approach and lateral pass, and the urination was recorded immediately after the display.
