I observed the mating behaviour of Cylindera kaleea. The Female attempted to shake off the male, but stabilised and were ready to mate when the female took the bait. Thus, the moment when the male stabilises his mating position while the female is feeding was often observed (in captivity).
In this species, as in others, the male first clasps the female's neck in his jaws to stabilise her head. The male then moves on to the female's back. After a few minutes of copulation, the two males separate.
