Common Ringed Plover, foraging and wing spreading.
Wing spreading at the start, showing a white stripe
in the flight feathers which is the origin of the Japanese
name ("hajiro-").
Compared to a Long-billed Plover (front), the shorter bill and
orange legs are apparent.
